ACTION  PLAN FOR    2011 -2012

 

APRIL  2011

Ø         To sensitize the Judicial Officers  and Advocates to be sensitive to people’s cause particularly of that of women and children, minorities, and such other most vulnerable groups as well as persons in custody in addition to implementation of the Acts pertaining to mentally and physically challenged, the destitute and beggars, the orphans and neglected citizen, the abandoned elderly citizen and organize such workshops in all the districts.

 

Ø         To organize  Lok Adalats for mostly pre litigation/post litigation cases submitted  to the State/District Authority 

 

Ø         To organize Legal Awareness Programme with the District Legal Services Authority targeting the remote rural areas and informing them of ways to avail legal aid and encourage them to settle disputes through Lok Adalats organized by State and District Legal Services Authority

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners

 

Ø         To  publish  pamphlets in the Mizo Language  on Senior Citizens Act.

MAY  2011

Ø         To organize  Lok Adalats for mostly pre litigation/post litigation cases submitted to the State/District Authority 

 

Ø         Annual Meeting with Chairmen and Member Secretaries, DLSAs

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under-trial prisoners

 

Ø         To organize Legal awareness campaigns on Workmens Compensation Act as an observation of ‘International Labour Day’-1st May, 2011 and organize Lok Adalats.

 

Ø         Observance of ‘Anti-Tobacco Day’ on 3rd May, 2011

 

Ø         To set up  Legal Aid Clinic in different localities involving the Law students residing within the areas .

 

Ø         To  publish  pamphlets in the Mizo Language  on Rights of Accused in Criminal Cases.

JUNE  2011

Ø         To organize awareness campaigns involving the NGO ‘YMA’ on the occasion of ‘YMA Day’ – 15th June, 2011 on subjects pertaining to Human Rights and Court Procedures.

 

Ø         To organize Lok Adalats for Criminal Compoundable Cases for those accused persons released on bail.

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under-trial prisoners

 

Ø         Observance of the ‘World Environment Day’ on 5th June, 2011

 

Ø         Observance of ‘World Day against Child Labour’ on 12th June, 2011

 

Ø         To visit the Old Age Homes  and provide Legal Aid

 

Ø         To organize awareness seminars in remote rural areas with the District Legal Services Authorities and organize mobile Lok Adalats.

 

Ø         To conduct training programme for Para Legal Volunteers

JULY  2011

Ø         In an observation of “MHIP Day” – 6th July, 2011 it is planned to organize Legal awareness.

 

Ø         Organize awareness camps in relation to women and children in need of care and protection.

 

Ø         Camps involving the  Women  Law Commission on Women  Empowerment .

 

Ø         To organise Lok Adalats for Civil Cases pending in the courts, MACT cases and pre litigation cases

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners.

 

Ø         To organize Legal awareness Camp in school and monitor the Legal Literacy Clubs.

 

Ø         Conduct Annual Meeting of Members of State Legal Services Authority

AUGUST  2011

Ø         To organize Legal Literacy Camps at Central and District Jails

 

Ø         To organize Mobile Lok Adalat for cases pending before Juvenile Justice Board and Criminal Compoundable Cases

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners.

 

Ø         To organize Legal Awareness Programme amongst the Media and Journalist and discuss issues of Role of Media in Court  Proceedings.

 

Ø         To visit the Law college and motivate the students to hand out the pamphlets and brochures prepared in the Local language  on Basis Legal Rights and awareness at busy market areas.

SEPTEMBER 2011

Ø         To mobilize the law college students and besides distributing legal awareness pamphlets get the students to give door to door  information of the availability of free legal aid and legal counsel

 

Ø         To organize Lok Adalats for Civil, Criminal and MACT cases & Family Courts

 

Ø         To visit as High Schools, Colleges and other training institutes and conduct Legal awareness Camps.

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under-trial prisoners.

 

Ø         To conduct training programme for Para Legal Volunteers

 

Ø         Organise legal awareness camps in relation to juvenile justice and child rights

OCTOBER 2011

Ø         Observance of ‘Senior Citizen`s Day’ – 1st October, 2011

 

Ø         Observance of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ – 2nd October, 2011

 

Ø         Observance of ‘World Mental Health Day – 10th October, 2011

 

Ø         To organize Lok Adalats for Civil, Criminal and Pre-Litigation cases,  Family Courts and MACT cases

 

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners.

 

Ø         Organise legal awareness campaigns at Colleges/Universities & monitor the Legal Literacy Clubs

NOVEMBER 2011

Ø         To organize Legal Awareness Seminar at every district headquarters involving with Non-Governmental Organizations, Social Volunteers, etc. in an observation of “Legal Services Day” falling on 9.11.2009.

Ø         To organize Legal Literacy Camps involving Law College students in an observation of Law Day on 26.11.2009

Ø         To organize Lok Adalat for Civil, Criminal and MACT cases and Family Courts.

Ø         To Sentisize the Police Forces of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and Juvenile Justice Act

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners.

DECEMBER 2011

Ø         To organize sensitization Programme in association with  Gilead Special School, Saron Veng on the  occasion of ‘World  Disable Day’ on 3.12.2009

Ø         To organize special programme at Law College on the subject  of Human Rights in an observation of Human Rights Day on 10.12.2009.

Ø         To organize Lok Adalat for Civil, Criminal and MACT cases  and Family Courts

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under-trial prisoners.

Ø         Organise programmes on TV / Radio.

 JANUARY 2012

Ø         To establish legal aid clinics in all the districts by visiting the districts and involving the young advocates and law students.

Ø         To visit the Protective Homes and Orphanages and discuss matters of Adoption Laws and Human Trafficking.

Ø         To organize Lok Adalats and see to the overall smooth functioning of the Permanent Lok Adalats  and Mediation Centers

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners

Ø         Organize awareness camps in relation to women and children in need of care and protection

FEBRUARY 2012

Ø         To visit the Remand Homes and Observation Homes and provide legal aid where required and conduct legal literacy camps.

Ø         To visit the University and hold Legal Awareness Camps.

Ø         To organize Lok Adalat for Civil, Criminal and MACT cases and Family Courts

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners

Ø         Organise legal awareness camps in relation to juvenile justice and child rights

MARCH  2012

Ø         Observance of ‘International Women`s Week – 8th -14th March, 2012 to organize Legal Awareness Seminar involving the NGO – MHIP and Women Cell of the Churches.

Ø         To organize  Lok Adalats for settlement of Civil Cases in the District court of Aizawl

Ø         To Sentisize the Police Forces of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and Juvenile Justice Act

Ø         To organize Special Lok Adalats in the Jails and provide legal Aid to the under- trial prisoners     

Ø         To conduct legal awareness camps at schools and colleges in rural areas
