BRIEF REPORT ON

ONE DAY SEMINAR RELATIONSHIP

BETWEEN EXECUTIVE AND JUDICIARY IN THE STATE

 

The Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with High Court Legal Services Committee organized One Day Seminar on “RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXECUTIVE AND JUDICIARY IN THE STATE” on 12.07.2019 at Taxation Auditorium.

In this programme Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan graced the programme as Chief Guest and Mr. Lalramzauva, Sr. Advocate and Adviser to the Chief Minister of Mizoram graces the programme as Guest of Honour. The inaugural session was chaired by  Mr. Vanlalenmawia, Member Secretary, Mizoram State Legal Services Authority and delivered an introductory and welcome speech and felicitated both the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. On invitation of the chairman, the Guest of Honour delivered a short speech after which “The Ten Schemes of NALSA” translated into vernacular language published by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority was released by the Hon’ble Chief Guest followed by speech. Followed by Tea Break.

The 1st Technical Session was chaired by Mr. R. Thanga, Chairman, Aizawl Judicail District Legal Services Authority and Mr. Vanlalchhuanga, IA&AS, Finance Commissioner & Secreatry, Government of Mizoram was the Resource Person and gave lecture on the subject “ Expectation of the Executive upon Judiciary in the Administration of Justice”. After which the chairman conducted an interaction session. Followed by Tea Break.

The 2nd Technical session was chaired by Mrs. Helen Dawngliani, Secretary, High Court Legal Services Committee and Mrs. Marli Vankung, Secretary, Law & Judicial Department, Government of Mizoram was the Resource Person and gave lecture on “Role & Responsibilities of Executive for the development of Judiciary ”. The chairperson conducted an interaction session.

The programme was concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Gracy L. Bawihtlung, Secretary, Mamit District Legal Services Authority followed  by Lunch.

The programme was carried out successfully without any obstacle. The participants also found the seminar very fruitful. The programme was attended by 150 participants from different Departments of the Government (Under Secretary and above) and also members from MUP and concillators of Lok Adalat attended the programme.
