REPORT ON HEALTH CAMP FOR DISABLED PERSONS & SENIOR CITIZENS AT SAIRANG

 

The Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with National Mental Health, Mizoram and National Institute of Locomotor Disabilities (RC) organised Health Camp for Disabled Persons and Senior Citizens at Sairang on 26.02.2021.

The programme was organised with a aimed to to carry out Constitutional mandate to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disability, strives to ensure that the rights of the mentally ill are safeguarded at all times. These include their right to get treatment and to be rehabilitated, to protect and promote their full enjoyment of all privileges, to ensure their privacy, dignity and integration in society on a basis of perfect equality.

In this programme different Medical Officers from various departments like Medicine, ENT, Opthalmology, Psychiatry, Orthopaedic, Audiology were deputed from Civil Hospital, Aizawl and Zoram Medical Centre, Falkawn. Apart from that Physiotherapist, Clinical Assistant (Mental Retardation), Prothetist & Orthotist were deputed from National Institute of Locomotor Disabilities, Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor were deputed from National Mental Health, Mizoram and One Data Entry Operator was also deputed from Zoram Medical Centre for UDID purpose. Social distancing was maintained througout the programme. Mask were distributed to all the persons coming to attend the programme. Around 344 persons benefitted the camp.
