REPORT ON ASSESSMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES TO THE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY DISABLED PERSONS AT CHALTLANG AND LAIPUITLANG ON 28.01.2021
The Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Nationa Institute of Locomotors Disabilities conducted assessment for Legal Services to the Physically and Mentally Disabled Persons at Chaltlang and Laipuitlang area on 28.01.2021.
For the assessment, the Mizoram SLSA and National Institute of Locomotor Disabilities had a meeting with the member of Local Councils (Gao Burahs) within Chaltlang and Laipuitlang area. In the meeting, the Local Council Chairman of Chaltlang area delivered a welcome speech and Ms. Mimi H. Rosiamliani, Project Coordinator had an introduction and stressed the purpose for conducting the assessment amidst the pandemic. Mr. Lalnunpuia, Programme Officer, National Institute of Locomotor Disabilities had a brief explanation about their respective department and also explained various requirement for providing wheel chairs, hearing aid, Medical Retarded Kits and Blind stick etc to the participants.
After the meeting, door to door assessment was held within Chaltlang area and Laipuitlang area with the member of Local Councils of Chaltlang area and Laipuitlang area respectively. Most of the households are unable to apply for disability certificate as they are not willing to apply Adhaar Card due to religious belief.
All the necessary documents will be collected by the Local Councils for futher dostribution of wheel chairs, hearing aid, Medical Retarded Kits and Blind stick etc during the month of February.
